The High Auction (Wisdom Revolution, #1) by Misba

Image
The High Auction by Misba My rating: 5 of 5 stars OH. MY. GOD! THIS BOOK IS INTENSE! “What is it then?” Kusha whispers in harmony with his voice. She never meant to ask, not in such a dreadful situation. Yet, she asks anyway. “Voice. Influence,” he says. “Mostly knowing what to whisper to your audience in which frequency and when.” This is such an accessible science fiction. It’s the best science fiction fantasy I have read in decades. Its pages are unbelievably crafted. I'm glad I found this jewel! View all my reviews

Gideon the Ninth (The Locked Tomb, #1) by Tamsyn Muir

Image
Gideon the Ninth by Tamsyn Muir My rating: 5 of 5 stars This is a fantastic book set in space. The characters are strong with lots of humor in them. I don't have to say how different the magic system is in this book, especially when it's combined with the world. This one is on my physical read shelf. The most important thing I noticed was its dialogues that made me laugh out loud frequently. “Don't die in a bone. I am your creature, gloom mistress. I serve you with fidelity as big as a mountain, penumbral lady." Harrow's eyes flickered open. "Stop." "I am your sworn sword, night boss." "Fine," said Harrow heavily. Gideon's mouth was about to round out the words "bone empress" before she realised what had been said.” Definitely a musthave book. View all my reviews

The Stars Are Legion by Kameron Hurley

Image
The Stars Are Legion by Kameron Hurley My rating: 5 of 5 stars “When you understand what the world is, you have two choices: Become a part of that world and perpetuate that system forever and ever, unto the next generation. Or fight it, and break it, and build something new. The former is safer, and easier. The latter is scarier, because who is to say what you build will be any better?” As the story continued I can't say enough how much I ended up liking this book. The Stars are Legion is a story of desperation and war and evil system that would never fail to fail the people. The gripping space tale was highly interesting that shared so many important thoughts. It definitely gave me a lot to think about. View all my reviews

Red Rising (Red Rising Saga #1) by Pierce Brown

Image
Red Rising by Pierce Brown My rating: 5 of 5 stars Oh God! The author is so heartless. How could he do this? Not once but repeatedly. It's hard saying it without spoiling, but I think this is the only sci fi that I could read as easily as I read fantasy books. This book isn't like most of the science fiction books where you can't visualize things enough. Try this one. It’s full of emotional outrage. View all my reviews

The Final Empire (Mistborn, #1) by Brandon Sanderson

Image
The Final Empire by Brandon Sanderson My rating: 5 of 5 stars So many people in my friend list hated Vin, but I liked this book exactly for Vin. I think I rooted for Vin more than Kelsier. I was also surprised how I connected to almost all of the characters. That's something I don't usually do when I read books fast. I think much of it is the author's skill here. This book has great world building. I liked everything of it. View all my reviews

Storm Glass (Glass, #1) by Maria V. Snyder

Image
Storm Glass by Maria V. Snyder My rating: 4 of 5 stars The premise was really interesting. Catching storm in glass orbs, i never heard of it before. Saw catching ships in bottles in pirates of the Caribbean. So i got to it thinking i'll see something different in sci fi world or something. The cover at least gave me a sci fi vibe. Overall It's a good book. View all my reviews
